Ok i had a Yamaha SY85 back in the day in the UK great synth, great sounds but you were VERY restricted in how many of those sounds in voice or performance mode cld be used in the 16 track onboard Sequencer as they sounded in those modes due to effect limitations inside the sequencer. My question is - how many of the sounds on the M50 for example within Combi mode can be used (exactly as they sound in Combi mode) in the M50's sequencer?

Holy shit dude,are you kidding?The SY85 is so old,that I had to go to "Vintage Synth Explorer" website just to get an idea of what you were talking about.

It's virtually pointless to even do a comparison between the two.

I have never copied any COMBI effects to my M50's sequencer,but I can assure you that you will be very happy with all of the M50's capabilities...

....believe me,there is absolutely no need to for you to be in any sort of debate of over the M50's features.

I also own a Korg Triton Extreme,so for me to be interested enough to buy a M50..well...that says it all right there.

I've played both the M50 and the M3 88. I bought the M3. I'm 1000x sure. You can beat the Karma combined with everything else. Over 20+ drum instrumetns combinations with over 700+ ways to play them. Plus the sound library is UNREAL. And the M3 Expanded piano sounds are just unreal. Totally destroy yamaha

Are you sure about that? I think the M50 has the new synth engine (forget the name)...but could be wrong.

Used Fantom x8 or New M50 88key? Which would be better? I don't care about guitar sounds. Mostly concerned with New Age style and Old Synth Style sounds.

People say it is best because of price tag. I have played many professionally, and the top 2 in my book are the Korg M3 and the Yamaha Motif.

It would be great to me if it wasn't so ridiculously overpriced, since most of the sounds in the OASYS are available in the M3 anyway.

well... lol..actually i know about that..but still its not the same..actualy hte m3 has something that the oasys doesnt have ...the screen interface...but still for some reason oasys its hte best product ever made and still its in the top of m3 and m50 and any keyboard from korg..this is not an argue lol..we are just talking :)..u can reply to this one also if you want :)

Well.... heres something I bet you didn't know. Not being a douche or anything saying this haha. The Korg M3 has KARM 2.0, UPDATED from the OASYS, The Korg M3 has the SAME SOUNDS and uses the same sound system as the OASYS.
