I planted this in early febuary, and now i have a little lychee tree. I had to transplant it so that it could have a bit more space. the mangoes are next to it, and make a brief appearance
@GardenNewbie I had to wait a while, something like 2 months. just make sure that you burried it on its side, keep it moist - not water logged (they germinate much quicker if they are constantly moist, and will still like constant humidity when theybecome older). I started it in December and it began to grow in febuary/march. Often the roots will have grown for a couple weeks BEFORE there is any spouts coming above the surface. If you look at some of my earlier posts you can see what i mean.
@Illchangeitlater it's Canada, scarborough, i put them in the sunniest place in my house (southern facing window), but i started too many plants, ran out of space to store them, and had to sacrifice them. If anything take from this video that tropical plants will grow in a zone 6, but becoming a hoarder of plants leads to sacrificing living space. By all means grow and experiment, but when your plants encroach on living space something needs to give.
How long did it take to germinate? i just started one a couple weeks ago but no sign of sprouting yet.
