Pubblicato come singolo, ha avuto un grande successo raggiungendo il primo posto della "U.S. Billboard Hot 100". Il brano ha avuto numerose cover, tra cui la più fortunata commercialmente è quella realizzata da Phil Collins nel 1998.
Il brano è stato registrato presso lo studio "Black Pond" di Glendale in Maryland nel 1991 ed è contenuto nel disco "American Tune" del 2003.
La versione di Eva Cassidy è a parere mio molto bella, cantata in maniera ineccepibile, superiore all'originale di Cyndi Lauper.
