DISCLAIMER:
Do Christians sin? Is there sinless perfection AFTER conversion to Christ? The bible in no way shape or form teaches or purports any such thing. Rather, it teaches that we as new creatures will have a NEW nature. But that new nature does NOT entail complete and utter sinless perfection. It only entails a STRONG conviction and ability to avoid sins. But it does not say that we would be TOTALLY delivered from ALL sins, (even the ones we don't know about).
So if you are a so called self proclaimed sinless perfectionists, or if you support that teaching, then you ought to be able to give an HONEST and NON-HYPOCRITICAL response to the SIMPLE question that I've proposed towards anyone that claims sinless perfection;
"Have YOU sinned at least once since conversion?"
A simple yes or no would suffice. Now herein lies the problem;
IF YES
-If the sinless perfectionists says YES, then they are hypocritical for condemning those that are against the false teaching of sinless perfection, and are not competent enough to display an example of it in their own life. This is exactly what Jesus spoke about in Matthew 7:1-5;
"1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but CONSIDEREST NOT THE BEAM THAT IS IN THINE OWN EYE? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a BEAM is in THINE OWN EYE? Thou HYPOCRITE, first cast out the beam out of THINE OWN EYE; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
IF NO
- If the sinless perfection says NO, then you are in direct violation of 1 John 1:8-10 which clearly states;
"If we say that we HAVE NO SIN, we DECEIVE OURSELVES, and the truth is NOT IN US. If we CONFESS our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
Apart from the fact that answering 'no' would immediately display boastfulness upon those that claim sinless perfection, (contradicting Ephesians 2:8-9). This would also have to mean that those that are preaching sinless perfection have displayed that they are just as hypocritical as the Pharisees.
I mentioned the verse Philippians 3:12-13 in one of my videos and just recently viewed an absolute horrible explanation on what Paul was really saying.
It's very obvious in the passage that the apostle Paul was saying that he had not yet attained sinless perfection. That's the context of verses 9-16. No mention of anything temperal. But of course of you're a S.P. (sinless perfectionist) you can't see that truth.
...and yes; 'Paul Wasn't Perfect' in Philippians 3:12.
sure seems to me to be advocating EXTREME works salvation. It makes the law and the pharisees look like a joke. This chapter and a few others pretty much sink any sense of salvation by grace through faith. I have worked on this passage for a year and there is no way around it. It is COMPLETELY contradictory to the doctrine of grace. This is one of the worst most destructive passages in the entire new testament. but i suspect that it is the true message, one of EXTREME works for salvation. sad.

@hellbindercda I TOTALLY and COMPLETELY disagree with you. This is the absolute opposite of what you're suggesting. This passage is REFUTING salvation by works and sinless perfectionism. Paul is talking about becoming holy during your time here on earth.
