Saturday 30th July 2011 (during the Manx Transport Festival) found myself scratching in a new line on the Isle of Man; the 19 inch gauge Great Laxey Mine Railway, running from Mine's Yard to Valley Gardens via the Island's only railway tunnel underneath the main road to Ramsey (and under the Manx Electric Railway).
The replica Lewin 0-4-0 steam Loco Bee was kept busy on Saturday, pushing and pulling it's single coach to and from Valley Gardens (for the Manx Waterwheel). I took a ride on the short line to Valley Gardens and back.
Fellow replica Lewin loco Ant was undergoing an overhaul at the sheds, and the small 0-4-0 diesel loco Wasp was drawn out for photos.
Also sighted nearby, was the Snafell Wheel (a small version of the Manx Waterwheel, you could say!), sighted on the washing floors of Laxey Glen Gardens.
@Beccacubbon Thanks for the comment; it was nice to pay a visit this Summer!
