@rngepkn33b They are popping their ears or equalizing the ear pressure. The decompression chambers are a similar setting to being underwater except you are in an air tank.

Writes somebody who has clearly ZERO knowledge of the topic. Che pressure closes the doors and ceilings - as you might saw the door opens only to the inside - which would be impossible under the surrounding pressure of 6 ATM. If the thing explode they probably would suffer an excessive N2 hit (get bend) - leading most likely to paralysis and dead as well as they would trow out there lungs true the mouth. But if this thing leaks than they could not even built up such a pressure of 6 ATM.

Hey Eric, here is a million $ check with you name on it. You couldn't pay me enough to be in there. I would rather suffer the boring drag of a 9-5 job. See how the door is engineered to force a seal on the inside. One hole in the chamber at that pressure. All those laughing kids. You would probably feel like every square inch of tissue was being pulled apart. Your eyes would explode. Every tube in your body would blast apart.. Then you explode; and that all happens within a second.
