Absolutely fantastic, as in all her roles. Thank you for the post. Shame I won't be in Vienna on 22 May. I am sure it will be a very special event. On the other hand it will most probably be in German and my German is very minimal so I am not too upset.

This is FANTASTIC, MIND-BLOWING singing!! "Christa forever" - yes, indeed. It´s a pity I was not able to see and hear her on stage any more. It has been all the more gratifying to meet her personally as a coach of one of my singers.
For everybody who might want to come by or who is in Vienna on 22 May: there´s a matinee with Christa Ludwig at the Vienna State Opera: "My favorite composers"...

All I can say is that the length of the applause at the end of this piece (where there normally isn't any) reflects the quality of the artist. Ludwig was at the height of her vocal powers here (which lasted for quite a while!) and I will never tire of listening to this. She ticks every box for me with this one. Brava! Brava! Brava!

She was always stoppped by applause after Entweihte Götter. It is 1965 under Bohm in Vienna
