Ah! One of my favorite recordings, known only from catching it on the radio. This is from a record "Airs and Arias" made by Judith Blegen and Gerard Schwartz as trumpeter, and the only recording I know of in which the trumpeter approached the technique and beauty and the fulness of tone of Adolph Herseth, the legend of the Chicago Symphony. Many thanks for this - and any other samples from that recording, which I've been unable to find,
Well, I may have just answered my own question. On Amazon, the only disc with this selection is accompanied by the Mostly Mozart Symphony Orchestra under the direction of none other than Gerard Schwarz (sorry for the earlier misspelling). I would really be surprised if it wasn't him on the trumpet part.
The only cornetist (or c trumpeter) I've ever heard play this smoothly is Jerard Schwarz, now the conductor of the Seattle Symphony. His lines here are as smooth as silk. I wonder if anyone can determine just who this musician is?
Still lovely.

Just fabulous ornamentational interplay on the
repeated section. Miss Blegen improvises more
than any of the other wonderful sopranos on YouTube and does it brilliantly. Kudos for the
trumpeter too.

Nice variations amongst the already beautiful singing.
