How to root the LG Optimus V without ADB Shell (Gingerbreak)

This video will show you how to root your LG Optimus V without using the ADB shell. Before you begin you will need to:

1 - Under Settings - Applications - Developement - Enable USB Debugging

2 - Download Gingerbreak to your SD card.

ok i got it to download. just couldnt do it with the stock browser so i did it with the opera browser. so i did everything and even got the superuser. but when i went to the about phone setting it still showed android version 2.2.1. how do i know its a 2.3 version? does it show in the superuser app?

@kingamin77 Rooting it doesn't change the version of android, it just gives you root permissions to the device. You will have to install a custom ROM to get 2.3. Watch my other video on how to do that.

phone wont let me download the gingerbreak

@kingamin77 Youre gonna have to hook it up to your computer and copy it over. I think some of the newer versions of android for this phone don't allow you to download things directly to the phone. I had this problem on a new phone i had but not my old one.

im convinced that rooting your phone is bullshit. no matter what u do, its always a problem. Fuck this wheres my iphone. Wayyyyy easier to jailbreak it. Find firmware, download redsnow and thats a wrap. Got it the very first time i tried. Im starting the official androids suck campaign. Fuck droid, Fuck droid, Fuck droid, whos with me? lol

thanks guy! this worked flawlessly. for people who are having problem's downloading gingerbreak and don't want to install opera, i downloaded to my macbook and moved it onto my sd card, no issues whatsoever.

When I downloaded Gingerbreak on my computer it was downloaded in .txt format, any one know a solution?

Hell Yeah!!!! Finally someone that explains it step by step and not like a tweaker saying it all fast and out of order. Plus, really good by not using alphabet lingo too much. Helps for novice users.
