An Emirates Boeing 777-300ER has to go around due to a police Islander taking much longer than needed to start it's takeoff roll. The aircraft came in for a second approach and perfect landing 20 minutes later. Filmed on a day out with Bumscab1, watch out for his video of the events.

  • Due to fly to Canada soon. Goes without saying the problem with the heat exchanges has been fixed now then ?

  • @ferark Well that problem only exists on the Trents, and yes it's fixed.

  • 777's ROCK! They are the SAFEST planes up there. They have had only 1 accident and it was a Autothrottle problem

  • @johnairlines8 They are the safest aircraft in the sky, for sure. Although it wasn't an autothrottle problem, the AT worked fine. The heat exchangers didn't work properly and tiny ice crystals clogged up the fuel lines, not allowing the engines to develop power above flight idle.

  • @blueb0g shipping with faulty components doesn't exactly qualify them for the safest aircraft in the sky. Unfortunately the only other candidate, the a330 doesn't exactly handle super cooled water to well, although I think as far as mechanical faults go the a330 DOES have the best track record, and the only mechanical failure I can think of was because of poor maintenance (that one that dumped it's fuel and glided into the azures if I remember properly).

  • @Imprezaman555 Every aircraft has something dodgy mechanically, and just because an a/c has one doesn't make it unsafe... Your A330 argument however is flawed - AF 447, after all, came about after the Thales pitot tubes failed (as has happened numerous times).

  • @Imprezaman555 Plus, the problem with the 777 was due to the heat exchangers in the Trent 800; the same problem existed on the Trent 700's, e.g the engines used on the A330.

  • what a smooth landing...

  • What a greaser

  • @JohnMaxGriffin Indeed!

  • @jonny96 Largest operator of the type in the world! 2 engines 4 long haul ;)

  • @JohnMaxGriffin Emirates are the only airline that operate every variant of the 777. The have 777-200 (A model) 777-200ER, 777-200LR, 777-300, 777-300ER, 777-300ER/ULR (Has a higher MTOW and option to bump up the engine thrust for take off) and the 777-F. 94 in the fleet at the moment with 2 or 3 arriving before the end of the year! 2 engines are the way forward!

  • @johnairlines8 Rolls-Royce Trent 800 failure.

  • I flew with this airplane from Dubai to Sri Lanka :D was such a nice trip!
