Unknown piano virtuoso Gerhart Muench performs, or better said, recreates Alexander Scriabin's masterwork, Piano Sonata No. 4 Op. 30. More of Muench's work to come!
I think he is a born in Germany, but lived for many years in Mexico after running from the political problems in his country in 1953. As far as I knew he was a composer and philosopher, but apparently he also recorded as interpret. I didn't know that. This is ... an interesting version.
This sound ,the piano he uses everything here sounds so right for S k r y a b in. So fro n i t s k y should sound like this.! This dude was pretty eccentric from the photos I can tell. Ya got love him. this is fantastic! He was a h o t t i e too! this sounds like a piano roll . God,I hate ( not too strong a word) these things.
oh my gosh...i'm very sorry, but this is rubbish...okey, it is quite a hard thing to say that...but the second movement is so broken...the whole Movement broke into a lot of small pieces... it seems that he is just very happy whith every small piece if its working good...but its kind of.....bitchy...and touchy... the ritardandi are at the wrong points...listen to emil gilels if you have a record of him...he makes also a lot of mistakes but its so musically...

I agree with you, he puts always special attention on this mystic chord and the waving of the piece. Hope you can hear the other Scriabin works!
