There is a difference between applying bronzer and contouring your cheeks. Both can do wonders for skin radiance and bone structure but it's important to understand that bronzer is different than a contour. When you are contouring you are aiming to place shadow in key areas to give the illusion of slimmer cheeks, and a higher cheekbone.

The secret to doing this effectively is by using small brushes like the brushes I mention in this video. The smaller more precise brush will give the most control, and concentrate the shadow in the most effective area.

Bronzer is best placed on top of your cheeks. This gives a more youthful, radiant sun kissed glow to the skin. I personally like to use cooler, matte browns to contour. There are no rules when it comes to makeup, so have fun and mix this technique in with your routine to find a way that works best for you.

  • I like it but not many people can afford mac make-up at 14 and I don't have all them expensive brushes :/ so it's not gonna work for me :(

  • @BrokenName01 There are many great alternatives that you can find in drugstores, so don't get discouraged. NYX is really awesome and very affordable, and try Sonia Kashuk or Real Techniques brushes. They come in complete sets and are also very affordable. Keep watching, remember I do this for a living so I HAVE to have all the tools. Let my videos inspire your own looks with what you do have and can afford! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. xo

  • where is the fan brush from may i ask? can we used a matte eye shadow from matte? i have a very similar skin tone as you but i dont know where to get kevin accoin stuff, but i do have a nearby mac counter!

  • @aarteaV Choose anything you may have that looks close. If you have an cool, matte, (no shimmer, sparkle or shine) eyeshadow that looks similar give it a try. The goal is to just place in depth and shadow. Don't overlook the drug store brands, you would be suprised... the tones that are usually sold for filling in eyebrows ( cool, flat taupy browns) tend to work best.

  • Please, please keep up with the good work!! I love your videos, you definitely deserve more suscribers (but this will come over time, no doubt about it). You are always straight to the point, very informative, profesionnal and creative (I like that many of your tutorials are on the "sexy/demure side").

I have been using this contouring method for these last 2 weeks, it works wonders on my kinda chubby face :-))

  • @LittleParisienne wow!! this is one of the best comments I've received! thank you, I'm so thrilled you watched it, used it, and found it helpful. Thanks again!
