Our society is insane, on every level. See, what you make a system with is what it becomes... Money is the root of all evil. People have now tried to update it & say the love of money is but that is obsurd. Our main focus in life should be to develope ourselves & who we feel to be inside as much as possible & help other do the same while respecting the fact we must all have nourishment, social interaction, shelter, & love. That is all we need, everything else is designed to distract you.

uh, evil is the root of all evil.

@MrKirbenCallaghan Why should we abandon industrial civilization when we're on the verge of having infinite power and escaping to the stars?
-
@videoguy604 How is that any different from now exactly?

Grow a food garden. The biggest use of petrol is in agriculture. Pesticides, packaging and especially transportation of food is the biggest waste of petrol. If you want to change the culture you can change your way of life. Grow a garden. Produce your own food locally. Then you're not dependant on the petrol agriculture system.
Peace, love and understanding.

I don't believe that destructive revolution is the best way to achieve lasting positive change. Destructive institutions, protected by the threat of state violence are pretty much immune to individual action or collective suffering. These institutions have integrated themselves into, and inform this culture. My responsibility as I see it, is to act according to my beliefs, to help others and to not participate in harmful activities. I'm not responsible for shutting down car culture.

@beggge If the grid comes down, you will die, so why don't you just kill yourself? All life will be extinguished from this planet when the sun expands anyway. Only humanity has the power to take life beyond this planet. Earth is a rock, life is what we care about. Only industrial civilization can take life beyond this rock.

If the grid goes down permanently, every tree on Earth wider than your pinky finger will be cut down, and every wild animal larger than a mouse will be killed, count on that.

@videoguy604 eventually the grid will go down permanently. you can count on that, too.

@zzz33333 Not in my lifetime, unless you mean how the Bloom box and solar panels are actually going to make the grid obsolete. Try to take down the grid after power production is distributed at the point of consumption.
videoguy604 1 year ago
@videoguy604 there's no way to know, really, when the power grid will go down, but the fact is civilization is inherently unsustainable and at some point it will collapse.
it only makes sense to me that we should prepare for it, because if it collapsed tomorrow pretty much everything on earth would die; you're right about that.

Everytime I see a stupid video like this that puts down people for using lumber, I go out to my woods and chop down a tree. As far as the car companies are concerned , do you realize how many people are employed in the cities that these companies operate? A lot of these jobs are in the inner cities employing thousands of minorities. So tell me ths. Why do you hate minorities. It is terrible to be a racist.
adamhawk71 1 year ago
@adamhawk71 your way of life requires the death of billions of minorities.
if the car companies close, they would be better off.
why do you hate minorities?
why do you hate the world?
why do you hate yourself?
