i just dont get why you guys argue with the subtitles/translations. I mean its not like you dont have german movies in english language too. So instead of stucking up your nose because of that, just take it as it is.

@acdecoy ohhh no no no no, what the f... seriously, what was your thought at the moment you write this? Come on! do you watch/hear animes from asia in original form? Ok english is the "global language" but what the heck... you could learn for example japanese too, because it ruins the experience? I mean some films or series are funny in english of course, but watching a film in his/her mother tongue is easier you see?

Yupp, spoken english is sometimes hard to understand (not for me)...and...watching movies with subtitles is more "work" than without, I know what I talk about, because I watched a lot of animes in japanese with english subs, 2 languages that are not my mother-languages...you have to concentrate more... ...I watched a lot of dubbed mvies the second time in english with subs in german, funny to see how they sometimes change whole text's...

No offense. None taken. To be honest I don´t know why a subtitle-culture like in other countries never established here. I guess because movies always have been dubbed in germany, most people are just not used to follow subtitles and action the same time - thus find it irritating. On the other hand I know of many germans who enjoy watching english language movies with english subtitles turned on (because they can read & write english ok, but don´t always understand spoken english good enough)

You know what song is playing during Payne and Lupino's first meeting? I mean in the movie, at the party.
Are the majority of people living in Germany illiterate or something? I'm not just saying this to be a jerk. I really want to understand WHY you need to dub all the movies and TV shows. Are you against non-german languages?
Doesn't anyone in Germany feel that it ruins the experience?

Many People seem to feel insecure understanding the english language good enough to be able to follow it in depth. Of course there are also Germans who prefer to watch movies in the original language and therefore choose theatres that play original versions.
