片中卻只提新竹苗栗, 不演戰爭較激烈的彰化八卦山,甚為奇怪? 彰化八卦山之役主力就是"片中不抗日"的外省人跟黑旗軍. 片中一直沒有增援的外省人劉永福,"在電影故意沒演到的地方" 1895.8.27增援了旱雷營跟七星隊共4營. 合當地的守軍12營,共五千人在彰化八卦山抵抗日軍. 日軍用暗夜渡河成功.攻擊彰化城與八卦山. 義軍用八卦山砲台的四門老舊克魯伯砲還擊日軍(守砲台的不會是台­勇了吧,是留下來的官兵). 但是日軍有16門山砲,9門機關砲. 義軍頭領吳湯興中砲亡. 黑旗軍的林鴻貴率七星隊搶奪吳湯興屍首時亦陣亡. 七星隊死傷殆盡. 黑旗軍指揮官統領吳彭年(浙江紹興人)打死不退,在是役也陣亡!­

@yuanxiaoyi Chinese pretend they don't understand what 1895 means to Taiwanese. It means one word "betrayal". That's right. How man soldiers did China send to help Taiwan? Sure, we're brothers. That's what brothers do to each other? How about in 1945? Did either KMT or CCP send a single soldier to "reclaim" Taiwan? No. KMT ended up coming to Taiwan by accident. China's cowardly behavior created the Taiwan Independence movement. If we don't protect ourselves who will?
