Infinite Minute #2: 2012 - Mayans and Planets and Flares - OH MY!

Well Space Fans, I've been looking into this whole 2012 thing like you asked and have written several scripts that deal with each of the main points of the whole 2012 thing.

To put it kindly, most of the 2012 analyses I've read and listened to are incomplete and full of biases, but I'll address that in other videos.

As always on the Deep Astronomy channel, we Space Fans are interested in perspective. Here is my first attempt to provide perspective for you.

If I get one email from someone worrying about the Earth getting swallowed by a black hole... well... just don't, OK? I may lose all faith in humanity...

Remember Space Fans, always think for yourself. Whomever you let do it for you will not do as good a job.

I know that Dr. Kaku does not support any of the 2012 hype. I know that. He knows that. But do you think people who are trying to get accurate information about 2012 (and who don't know of him) know that?

The point I was trying to make is that Dr. Kaku's words are being used against him. He does not support any of the theories on this topic, yet they are being distorted in a way that make it seem like he does.

I think he made a big mistake doing this interview and saying things the way he did. I was able to make him look like a 2012 supporter in just a few seconds.

He is a good scientist, and I respect him very much, but he needs to be very careful how he says things on this topic.

This interview is a symbol of the central problem with 2012: people pick and choose what they want to hear that support their analysis and ignore the rest.

I hope I don't come to regret injecting myself in this topic, emotions are so raw...

So the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. I have a calendar that ended on Dec. 31st, 2002. The world didn't end just because my calendar did.

Besides the world is going to end in about 5 billion years when the sun expands and engulfs the Earth with it. Ill be dead by then anyway :)

Why can't the Mayans just go to walmart and get another calendar? Maybe one that has puppies on it, I don't care. The Mayans were just to lazy to keep the calendar going.

so what is the 21st dec 2012? it just appears to be what the mayans believed to be the fourth birthday of creationism. and archeological carbon dating would say they are very close.

Now,,, the only real danger i can think of over the next so many hundreds of years is the sun expanding - but don't worry,,, you will all be decomposing before that happens. ;)

they then broke off to different tribes as you do,,, but it just shows you how coultural differnces developed american red indians believed in naturous gods/spirits, i think this was influenced by them coming across many new types of animal when they were travelling, where aztecs and mayans more or less stuck to more astrological gods and spirits of the elements. if any of you just used that powerful machine you were given called a Brain you could use it to find out alot of truths.

i believe it was the long count calander,,, can't be sure but it would suggest that we are going into the forth age of creationism. these guys were ancient and even they had idea's of creationism long before christianity came to their shores but we need to remember how the mayans originally travelled to south america,,, they would have crossed from asia to canada about 12 thousand years ago as most culturely evolving humans migrated for new settlement and then they worked their way down america

small constellation in the sky known as sagetta, it was the arrow shot by sagittarious,,, in ancient coultures arrows were the original symbol for war and when you put 21'12'/20'12 in that takes you to the tip of sagitta, so maybe an advanced form of aliens is going to come from that direction to wipe us out........ that's how easy it is to make up a dooms day scenario. but i know this,,, the maya knew something about this date, it was a very significant date to them...

the only surviving information about the tun was a page, it told of the last day of the calender - it shows a watery beast - but,,,, you also have to remember we are phasing between astrology charts at the moment, aquarious and all that jazz, aquarious being the sign for water. but do you want to know what i find especially funny? do you? do you????? we know that star charts are based on calculations from right ascention and descention put 20'12'/20'12 into a star chart, it points to a....
