FuzzyButt loves to chew the buttons, snaps, zippers out of available clothing. He also loves to chew the wires out of bras. We have to be VERY careful to only give him things that no longer matter. He will spend hours on these projects which help distract him from plucking, the condition that brought him to us a couple years ago. He has permanent damage, but MUCH has improved and most of his feathers have returned. No matter, I find him the most beautiful bird in this wide world. He is most precious to me.
I have found this information on the Internet: "These are the supplements that I believe helped him to stop plucking and grow his feathers back. He's been plucked for 2 years. The Missing Link and 100% Powdered Cuttlebone. I sprinkle it on his peanut butter toast every morning." Spraying with aloe vera may help too.

oh my gosh this bird makes me laugh....you are amazing with your communication with this bird! i've never seen a disturbed bird like yours act like he does. our grey is a disturbed bird, he is a feather plucker. i showed him a lite up toy. asked him what is it? only when i walked away he said "its a toy!"..they are amazing and spark our "wonder" about them hugh? glad this bra thing works. ours just wants to recluse and be a part of us there! talks alot, but wants to be un-noticed! lol
