OB-TOOLS EUM

OB-Tools is developing the Electro Uterine Monitor (EUM) product family to provide accurate data and rapid analysis of the uterine contractions for the use in hospitals, private clinics and future home monitoring.

The Electrical Uterine Monitor, the EUM, measures the electrical activity by using surface EMG electrodes. The location of the electrodes is determined using a position sensor and analyzed by the algorithm. As a result a high quality characterization of the intensity and direction of the electrical wave is achieved, which therefore gives reliable information on the real activity of the uterus.

The algorithm results in a wave which demonstrates the presence, frequency and intensity of uterine contractions. The EUM technology and algorithm have been studied throughout the stages of pregnancy and labor and have shown to be reliable, reproducible and free of limitations of previous methods, even in conditions which are difficult to asses such as: preterm uterine contractions and high BMI patients.
