Clever Gerbil Bob never crashes in his exercise ball

Note: this is one of the few times he was in a ball as he didn't really like it, but I was still surprised how he stopped before he hit things unlike many hamsters I have seen.

My awesome gerbil Bob set off in his ball for only the second time in as many days and within minutes learnt to control the ball so that he never crashed! He's sooo clever! And he's only a baby! ... about 8 weeks old. The ball is a bit big for him but he'll grow soon enough :)

Actually, they hyperflex their spines, causing inflammation and in the long term, back pain.

They dont enjoy rolling around, they have no choice in the matter.

Gerbils are burrowing animals, and should be allowed to dig, which it their natural and built in instinct.

Calm down for a second m'dear.

He has been in the ball twice his life when I first got the ball and we never used it again.

We've gotten past the ball, the peat and metal springs and they now have a large tank with a custom built tank topper which my gerbies love digging in a full tank of megazorb with huge tunnels.

animals run that much in theese plastic balls only because they are trying to get off it.

My gerbil has quite a light ball, and loves going in it. Runs around the whole flat and you cant get him out lol he loves it that much lol. I think it depends on the gerbil and the ball, as you have to get the right balance and make sure that theyre ok.

Just hang on a minute critics. The ball lets them run and move safe from electric cables and dangers in other places other than their tanks. And as long as the owner doesn't go kicking the ball around, the gerbil is in complete control over the speed it goes and whether it stops dead or not.

And if the gerbil has any sense it won't go racing along then stop dead so it gets flung forward. And even if it did it's not the owners fault, it's the gerbils. So up yours, critics.
