It really is all about the tires. You could have the greatest AWD system on the planet but with crappy tires it makes no difference.

@RRuuffaarroo Do you wanna at least try to pick two cars in the same class? The LR3 and the X3 are not even close to each other not to mention the near as makes no differnce 15 thousand dollar price gap. And even if your LR3 does make it out into the snow you better bring a hat and gloves because when it breaks down chances are the tow truck will take a while to get to you.

@ATLZero And I drive a RWD 335i year round in MN winters. Try to take that C70 through the snow that X6 was in and tell me how far you get. My guess? Not even out of the plowed section of the lot.

With some snow tires on it he might have had a chance but to me it looks more like an issue of ground clearance then anything.
