Not Wanting to be Sceptical?

Is it the case that many religious believers continue to be so not because they are not sceptical, but because they don't WANT to be sceptical?

a very valid point .. not only is denial/bias so huge, but the feel good aspect is relevant and prevailent among religious folk, take those factors out and there'd be very few religious people .. great video thanks

I agree with the comment below.

I don't reject being skeptical for reasons of keeping my religious beliefs--if anything I can be very skeptical since Christianity (in my opinion) isn't a comfortable religion nor is it fun.

But I think I would agree with you that the MAJORITY of believers would run (literally) away from anything contrary to their beliefs.

Yet at the same time it's these people that want to spread their message across the world with little to none analysis of those beliefs.

It was very common amongst the christians I knew not wanting to be exposed to anything that might shake their faith in god. They actively self censored themselves. Occasionally even asking a priest or pastor if such and such book,movie or social activity was "OK" or not.
