The "mother" will not tell him facts and that's nonsense. He's trying to treat a brain and she brings the heart into it. Feelings. And the kid uses blackmail. He knows the effect he has on this overweight, tired man. How his stories effect him and his life. He's like the sultan who needs another story and the kid knows it so he continues. "The truth is inside you." Right.

i think its kinda true when he said ' why do they bother to call it love anymore?'. But there are some people who still have the glory of love :). i love this film.

u serious didnt believe him? lol. I kinda thought that til I started to really understnd the movie lol. Hope you enjoyd it sorry its poor quality I wish I could rip it from my dvd. Have a good day.

well...I don't think completely! People don't travel much nowadays by 19th century ships--especially ones hijacked by "scoundrels" who sell the passengers into slavery to sultans...just sayin'! I think the point here is that Don Juan teaches the doctor a "higher truth" through his fanciful stories...
