On March 31, 2014, at 12:43PM 18th District Officers were flagged down in the 5600 Chestnut Street. A witness told Officers that the Complainant was just forced out of a green colored Saturn SUV with New Mexico tag at 57th and Chestnut Street. Officers made contact with the Complainant who was visibly distraught. The Complainant told Officers that the Offenders forced her into the vehicle and taken to Citizens Bank located at 2900 Island Ave where she withdrew 8000.00 USC from her account.
On April 1, 2014, the Assigned contacted Citizens Bank Investigators to inform them of the incident. A photograph still from the bank which showed the Complainant along with Suspect #1.
On April 1, 2014, detectives conducted interviews and a witness stated they observed a green colored Saturn SUV with New Mexico tags pull up in front of the Verizon building at 57th and Chestnut Street. The Witness observed the female exit from the front passenger seat of the car and get into an argument with a female who was in the driver seat. The Witness then observed a unknown black male pushing the Complainant from the vehicle. The vehicle then fled the location east on Chestnut Street. The Witness said they approached the Complainant because she appeared to be upset and crying. When the Complainant told them what happened they located Officers who were on the 5600 Block of Chestnut at Rite Aid.
On April 1, 2014, the Assigned made contact with the Complainant. The Complainant stated at approximately 12:00 PM she was walking toward the Salvation Army located at 5th and Market Street when she was approached by Suspect #2. The suspected told her that she had money that she wanted to give her. Suspect #1 then approached and also began to tell the Complainant that they had money for her. The Complainant said she believed that something was going on and she became scared telling them to leave her alone. The Offenders did not leave her alone and followed her. Suspect #2 went and got her vehicle while Suspect #1 forced her into the car. When she was in the car they asked her what bank she used. The Complainant told them Citizens Bank. On the way to the bank they told her take money out of the account so they could give her money. The Suspects then took her to the Citizens Bank at the Penn Rose Plaza. When she was in the bank they went to a side booth where an employee was seated. Suspect #1 sat with the Complainant at the table. The Complainant told bank employee that she wanted to withdrew 8000.00 dollars. Suspect #1 told the bank employee that it was for the Complainants sister who just passed away. The employee brought the Complainant her cash. The Complainant went to get her money and Suspect #1 pushed her hand away, took her money and put it in his pocket. They left the bank and got back into the car where she was later taken to 57th and Chestnut Street. The suspects are described below.
Suspect #1: Black male, short, dark skin, approximately 40-50 years-of-age, wearing a dark colored hat, dark colored blazer and white shirt.
Suspect #2: Black female, tall, med skin, dark colored wig, wearing all dark clothes operating a green or dark colored Saturn, SUV, with New Mexico tag.
