  • any time one of the pettys has a story to tell, i listen.

...and man, do they have some stories to tell.

  • It dawned on me not that long ago that when both Lee and Richard had their bad wrecks at Daytona (Richard's being in the '88 500), there was a #73 Ford involved both times... YIKES!!

  • Holy crap...

  • @Xx75racer75xX HE WENT OVER THE WALL IN THE SAME RACE RIGHT BEFORE HIS DAD DID

  • WAS THE OTHER GUY HURT AT ALL?

  • What an insane crash...

  • thnxs for posting

  • @xrocknroll24x Yup!

  • @SammyFarkle in the 01 race, earnhardt got loose and slid up the track into sterling marlin, which turned him into the wall. i've always though it was weird the he died in a minor looking crash and lee petty had this scary crash and was able to survive. amazing how things turn out sometimes.

  • @Xx75racer75xX yeah. richard crashed early in the race and while getting out of the car he twisted his ankle, which is why he was in the infield medical center.

  • Didnt richard have a crash that year at daytona? he wrecked his car and was out? if im wrong correct me

  • Thank God the crash wasn't fatal. Though, I wish Adam was still with us. That way, he could get married, have a family, and keep the NASCAR royal family alive. I regret to say this, but when The King and the Prince are gone, NASCAR won't be the same ever agian.

    R.I.P.

    Lee A. Petty (1914-2000)

    Adam K. Petty (1980-2000)
