This was made for the people of Ville Platte, La. to enjoy their past heritage and share with family and friends.
Special Thanks to:
Bobby Dardeau's
THE BON NOUVELLE of Ville Platte, which many of the photos were taken from. Also Richard DesHotels who also provided some photos
This was really nice! My family on my dads side were mostly from Ville Platte, dad was born in Bunkie, and he will enjoy seeing this! Thanks for sharing! I've been trying to come back a couple times a year!

@ChicaLoca2u So many Fontenot's in the area. Any relation to Willis Fontenot?

I loved watching this. My Dad, Harrison Fontenot, is shown at the 8:23 min. mark. Those were the days...

Thank you, thank you, thank you. My parents and Grandparents were from Ville Platte. As a child I spent my summers there. Lots of good memories from that time! Thanks

Nice job,Ville Platte Guy. I visit your video frequently in an effort to get a little taste of Ville Platte. I have wonderful memories of your city and it's people. As an fyi, the pic posted at 00:30 is not associated with Ville Platte. It is a pic of the first ( 1908) public school at Mamou. It was owned by Simeo Vidrine . Fourteen students studied in one of the rooms upstairs. Keep up the meaningful work. Richard DesHotels

I'm only 19, but I was raised in Ville Platte. Amazing how things have changed. And sadly, amazing at how bad things have gotten around here lately.

Keep it up! I was raised in Bayou Chicot and my grandparents lived in VP throughout my childhood. I actually work there now, stationed there with Acadian Ambulance. Take care!
