I don't know where that 100,000+ furries figure comes from. I have seen furries (and by this, I mean the furfag variant, not the sane variant.) themselves say that the fandom is composed of around 50,000 furs. And that just makes it an obscure online group that borders on being some kind of cyber-porn cult that the average person knows nothing about. If they ever get mainstream attention, I assure you, it will be negative and ostracize them from sane people even more. :)
