asingan friends

Some friends stay with us as far as we can remember..One of the earliest friends I had when I was still in Asingan in the '60s are members of the Delmendo family. I first met Julie, Mildred and Susan one night on top of the Asingan Roman Catholic church choir loft. It was the vibrant '60s and life seemed sweeter then. I was the organist of this small foot pumped church organ ( more properly called a harmonium ) . We were then having the 9 day novena to the Asingan's Patron Saint Louis Bertrand. The novenawould culminate in a high mass on the Feast of St. Louis Bertrand. It always fall on an October 9.

I saw them recently during the town fiesta, 2009. They looked well, happy and very much in touch with the world. This short video is for them all.
