Listen to this wonderfully inspirational speech given by Anna Warner, a young talented singer who has struggled with vocal fold paralysis (initially one-sided, then both vocal folds). Grab your tissues. You can hear her sing with one paralyzed vocal fold on the "Snippets from WVD 2008-2009" video. You can hear her sing with both vocal folds paralyzed in her 2010 performance. This speech is from the Lakeshore Professional Voice Center (St. Clair Shores, MI) 2010 World Voice Day Concert Performance. Most of the performers are patients who have regained their voices and vocal health professionals. The purpose of the concert is to celebrate the voice and raise awareness of vocal health. The concert is hosted by Adam Rubin, M.D. and Cristina Jackson-Menaldi, Ph.D., codirectors of the Voice Center (www.lakeshoreent.com).
Anna, you are such an inspiration. You are always in my prayers. You have a hedge all around you. Peace & Love (JF)
