The title says it all. This Die Hard battery is now 12 ½ years old and just needs a boost, but will still start the old Burban. Talk about living on a prayer.

  • is it still a tbi motor?

  • Why, yes it is. To be exact, it is a "K" 350, worst 350 ever made by chevy

  • Not to worry, I am replacing that battery when I finish the restoration to that truck. Most 12.5 yr old batteries won't come back to life period!!! I was just doing that for demonstration purpoeses, I woulds never go out with a battery that old

  • whats so bad about the k engine? i dont know what i have in my 91 newer body style 1500 truck but my TBI 350 has 450,000 miles on it, never opened up. runs great.

  • You should know what you're talking about before making a fool out of yourself.

    1. That was right.

    2. A donor battery cannot start a car through jumpers. At idle, the alternator barely produces enough power to keep the headlights on, let alone keep the car running. At higher rpms, the alt does actually charge the battery, but even then, it is a tiny charge. It would take hours to recharge a battery at a normal cruising speed.

    4. Go start your car and disconnect the battery see how quick it dies

  • you have an interstate batteries not a die hard interstate made sears die hard for years sears got tired of paying interstate for there batteries so they started makin em thereself....the new die hards SUCK get an interstate i just replaced mine last year after 7 years

  • thats funny cause whenever i go fishin i crank my truck up and take the battery out and use the battery to run the trollin motor and i just let my turck idle (without the battery) i guess my truck is just magic then huh??

  • @Front2422 He'll get some out of it. Real cool! ;)

  • every engine i build i run with no coolant bone dry for 5 mins. to break it... u still have some flowing in it you can run that up to almost a hr before it over heats... nice tbi 350 by the way

  • 1. your engine wont catch fire without coolant. it simply overheats, seizes, and shuts off.

    2. the diehard didnt even start that burban, it was the donor cars battery (ive done about 1000 jump offs)

    3. the alternator supplies the electricity while the truck is runnin.

    4. what all that means is that the die hard could be 100% toast but your burban will still run cause no electricity from the battery was ever used. (technically)

motor looks perfect!! small block?? body's good. a couple dings thogh

  • hehe you said holy shit

  • 450,000miles! Thats awesome. Could you post a video of it?

  • That is when diehards were good. I think thier junk now. I bought my last 3 diehards and they just don't last. Firt one barely got me 4 years and that was a diehard gold. I bought another diehard gold and got told my odl battery still had $36.00 credit. Used credit and paid $69 toward new diehard gold. I got less than 2 years out of that battery. Sears said no warraty on battery and of course got run around. I bought a good ol interstate battery.
