Beethoven Sonata No. 7 in C minor is not as popular as Sonata No. 5 (Spring) or No. 9 (Kreutzer). Yet thanks to Heifetz, I am addicted to this piece!

1. Allegro con brio
2. Adagio cantabile
3. Scherzo: Allegro
4. Finale: Allegro; Presto

  • Wonderful piece and Heifetz's performance! I play this right now and his recordings always inspire me :D

  • Awesome :D

  • @AhimSaah "Retarded ego bastard"? Just listen to yourself. Heifetz was a genius, and like every genius, he must've been pretty difficult to collaborate with. But you truly show off your ignorance in that "establishing his ego" part. You've probably never heard his octet recordings, or his rendition of Handel's "Passacaglia". He could function as brilliant as always even as a part of an ensemble. Go act superior somewhere else, friend.

  • @AhimSaah ???

  • players of today should listen to this more often when preparing to play this piece

  • @AhimSaah Or maybe you should just shut the fuck up. I'm glad nobody gives a shit about your pathetic opinion.

  • Violinists like this should be banned of stage. Listen to Ashkenazy's and Perlman's Sonatas for example.Or just have a look in the Beethoven's score.

  • I shall never reach Heifetz's level of violin playing for two simple reasons: 1) I am a pianist 2) I don't want to be a musician like him.

As a professionally educated musician I have the right to give comments on performances of any instrument or chamber group. I firmly believe that any Heifetz's participation in any sort of chamber group is a shame because he thought of music as an opportunity of establishing his ego and not as possibility of people collaborating with a common purpose.

  • @AhimSaah First reach Heifetz's level of violin playing then you have the right to write such an arrogant comment...

  • Thanks to Heifetz I realized that such a genius piece can also be destroyed by an idiotic egocentric violinist like Heifetz! I really hate that guy with passion.

The sonata is for PIANO and violin. If the piano plays only pianissimo it never comes to life! All the pianists of Heifetz had to play pianissimo because he was such a retarded ego bastard!
