@wilkes85 You mean 2011. I have an analog TV somewhere in the basement and some antennas in the closet. As much as I want to see that happen, I wonder how we are going to plug it in...

My TV is all set for the 2009 switch. (I'm in the US). But then I won't get to see our switchover-maybe someone else will post it. This is interesting-great video!

When Canada switches in 2012, I'm gonna get 3 TVs, put them next to eachother, and watch as analogue, or should I say RELIABLE TV gets killed forever.
yup, the days of plugging in the arial antenna whenever the digital cable fucks up [which is all the time, BTW] are gone. time to make way for a future of un-reliable TV.

beep beep beep GONE
For the international viewers.
The first screen you see about a minute (till 4 am) is the text TV still sent via analog transmission. It is about the live reprot from the international athletic competition from Osaka and the commentater is live commenting the men's 50km walking race. Then he says that now the time for morning news, together with the time signal, and it changes to the announcement saying that the TV sending is moved to the digital in white letters on top of the blackbackground.
