You’re getting ready to buy your first camcorder or replacing your old VHS video camera. Before all you had to figure out what features you needed or want. Walking into electronic store the camcorders are in a store itself and so many different types. What’s right for me you ask yourself a Hard drive, SD media, MiniDVD, MiniDV or Flip? Does the salesman really know the difference between the camcorders? Pro’s and Con’s?

This series will be focusing on the different types of Camcorders, Pro’s and Con’s, and format (Mac and PC) it works with.

I hope to get many opinions from our experienced YouTube directors and videographers through comments and video responses. Please keep it clean since we have families that watch this channel, any foul language I will remove it.
Thanks,
Norm

  • @WWpictures100 my argument is that DSLRs have problematic work-arounds that while not impossible can stop some productions and/or are very irritating.

here's a list of these down-sides that are not present in the video/dslr hybrids:

    bad ergonomics

    proper/professional inputs and outputs

4.2.0 color space (which can make color correction and chroma key a problem)

bad compression (compressed MP4 makes editing a nightmare... sometimes)

audio (a fading problem but still a problem)

  • @hobocamptheater They cheaper and same or better quality plus they take good pictures

  • @WWpictures100 I have to disagree. sony has been creating some video cameras with interchangeable lenses that have the advantages of DSLR video with less down-sides. Not to mention the work-arounds of DSLRs. not saying they suck, I'm just saying they aren't the no questions asked best.

  • Nothing better then DSLR cameras for videos

  • Always get a 3CCD or an 1/2" CMOS camera.
