Long before watching this video, I found that this prayer has been most effective in fighting against temptation, for its very focus on Jesus Christ, and not something which I do. Thank you for your knowledge.

Yes, Father Seraphim and I would be in complete concord about the prayer of the heart and the guarding of the mind. It is not just for monastics, but all Orthodox Christians can benefit from it.
