Fitness Professional, Kim Ball, is starting a new video series. She's fed up with watching people's mistakes in the gym. In an attempt to help gym-goers avoid bad posture, muscular imbalances, and injury, Kim will be describing her pet peeves that take place in most gyms, AND she'll give tips on how to avoid committing these common "crimes".

  • Everything has its place Kim, before getting "peveed" find out for what a person is training for and what else they are doing besides what you see.

  • I do agree that there is a time and a place for isolation exercises (and other things in fitness, for that matter). I know it's not a good/bad issue :) I've actually written an article recently that describes the times in which it's GOOD to perform movements which isolate muscles. Just know that 1) too many people base their whole workouts around body-part splits when they shouldn't and 2) the "pet peeves" are just a fun theme for a series of vids. Thanks for your comments, though! Cheers-

  • maybe i should try now doing this compound exercises coz after 5months of going to the gym, i've only got a little improvement in my body and that really frustrates me. could you please give me a complete program or list of exercises , repetitions etc that i should do from monday to saturday coz i tried my best to go to the gym 4 to 5x a week. many thanx and sorry for my english!!!

  • I'm glad that my video helped you find what might be missing from your workouts! Unfortunately, I am not able to simply give you a program for free (although I would work for free if I didn't have to pay rent!) :) If you are interested in having me write you custom workouts, then please give me your email address and we'll chat further. If not, then just remember that compound exercises are movements that use multiple muscles: pushups, pullups, squats, lunges, etc, etc!

  • isnt that a former wwe wrestler? wow!

  • That's actually just a client of mine... an architect! But he sure was excited to hear your comment! :)

  • @maayongadlaw keep it simple, beginners need 3 days per week (monday, wed, fri) routine with all compound exercises in the 10-12 rep range, back- seated row-chest-benchpress-back-lat pulldown-chest-incline bench-legs-smith machine squats-ab crunch- leg press- rev ab crunch. 2 sets of each good luck

  • Or just do Deadlifts, Squats, Bench Press, Overhead Press and Power Cleans.
