@smokey631 jones was washed up before he fought joe. as joe said in his book. also yes joe was only 3 years younger than roy but joe had shown no signs od declining where as jones CLEARLY had (unless you one of them joe nut huggers who seem to think that roy was prime). and yes im a brit. i just really belive that both in their primes at super MW (wheres jones had stunning power) jones would own him.

@xxxloplopxxx Calzaghe was old when he fought Jones. Damn near killed Roy. Jones was 39, Calzaghe 36 so almost same age. Lucky he got the oldman from Wales

age wise they were close but brain wise they werent.once you get knocked out how roy did,he was never the same.the worst thing he coulda did was go heavy weight.excellent accomplishment but it ruined his career.once you get knocked out its hard to recover.its like QBs n concussions.Calzaghe never had to worry about gettin knocked out cuz he didnt fight anyone really skilled enough to worry him or any elite fighter for that matter. Calzaghe is a bad boy tho!Just not as good as the real Roy
