@x40sublime Just how high was it?

@mermaidofsuburbia don't worry you can eat basically what ever you want soon! you just have to match your insulin level to the amount of carbs you eat. it'll all become much simpler and clearer after a few weeks :)

I got diagnosed today and I have no clue what I can eat and what I can't. Suddenly, I can never have a soda or chocolate again and now I'm told I can't even have much fruit because that has sugar in it too. I thought it was only the processed sugar I needed to avoid. I have no idea how to survive this...

just a few Similarities to a Type 1 and a Type 2 Diabetic LIFESTYLE are: Controlled portion sizes, regular exercise, Carb counting, (for later on with type 2) insulin therapy, Hypo and Hyperglycemic awareness and the treatment of both, Slow healing wounds, Foot care, eye care, dental care, Finger sticks, the impact on family and close friends, Social discrimination, etc. As a type 1 I still have to have regular exercise, just I have to inject insulin afterwards. (most times)
