  • Hey Ray and Art - you forgot to mention the greatest home video format ever invented with the best sound to this day and the first ever Blu Ray -

THE PIONEER LASERDISC. I've still got mine

  • @svr73 We were discussing formats that you can RECORD on, which doesn't include laserdisc!

  • what is it you keep laughing at!?

  • @AccordionManiac I just had some "laughing attacks" while Art was here the past few days, can't really explain why!!!

  • i'm quite fond of archiving... although dvrs and timeshifting is incredible, i don't like the idea that everything's record and delete. archiving is a fun hobby I have to say!

  • @AccordionManiac I didn't realize that we gave the impression that we watch-and-delete. Art and I both have extensive video libraries in multiple formats. We both save the shows we like and want to watch over and over.

  • Most people actually used to delete just as well and just as frequently in the VHS days. I can't count the number of tapes i've got that have been taped over many many many times and have residuals of old recordings at both ends. Actually my grandmother deletes her VHS tape (for a soap opera she has to timeshift) every single day.

  • @videoholicreturns am still laughing at this video

  • I still use VHS and Beta, as well as LaserDisc. My CED collection, however is collecting dust.

But I also use DVD and Blu-Ray Disc.

  • Great interview. I remember VHS tapes as well, but now we have DVD and Blu-Ray, the only VHS I have is the Disney films on home video. I've been an active DIsney VHS collector for years, but I still keep them as well.
