C++ is an important programming language that is used on almost all computer platforms. C++ allows you to create applications where speed is of the essence. C++ applications run quickly because they are compiled in to machine language and the machine language is directly interpreted by the computer.
C++ is frequently used for console video games, financial applications and other types of applications that must operate quickly.
This tutorial is designed to teach you how to write your first C++ program on the Mac. This is the first video in a series of videos on C++ for the Mac.

This would be very helpful, but for some reason I downloaded xcode and it doesn't work. I downloaded version 3.2.6 because I didn't upgrade to Lion yet and it just says there's an error and I can't open it. So I've been using codeblocks instead, but the "hello world" message doesn't appear when I build and run it, instead I have to go to the file and look at it manually. It's there, but something else pops up when I run it instead of the message "hello world", but it's the folder.
