Quick vid showing the distortion (slightly clipped sine wave) present on the AC Mains compared to a clean, pure, synthesized 60 Hz waveform.

The clean waveform was generated by the HP 8904A Synthesizer.

Also note that the two waveforms (AC Line and 60 Hz from the Synthesizer) are not in phase sync, but one is leading the other (this is normal; do not be alarmed ... this phase lead-lag changes over the course of several minutes).

Never mind the audio .. it's what was 'playing' at the time ...
