@mark75x that video of Carl K. is from 1959 when Mercury broke the record for fastest outboard with the Thunderbolt, at Lake X. And...I DID get hired by Mercury and start on the 19th as a Test Pilot! Woo hoo!!

I live 5 minutes from X-Site. I watch the test boats sometimes. I WILL work there as a test pilot someday!!! My dream job! Would be an honor and a privilege to wear the Murcury Logo on my work shirts!!! Wish me luck all?!!!

The clip that starts at 11 seconds is not from Lake X, nor is it a Mercury product.
That particular clip is from 1954, 3 years before Merc started to move into Lake X and was filmed on the other side of the world in Italy.
