  • Tadap tadap ke giri sej pe, jaise meen bin paani re meaning (in repentance) I fell on my bed and started wriggling in pain like a fish out of water.

It is 'sej pe' and not 'se jhupe'

  • @sharmakdevendra Thank you, Crazyoldsong also suggested the same correction.

  • @SJisBack "Does anyone know what is meant by "Akkal ki khani"?or "Giri se jhupe.."

Sudhir - "Bhayee Akkal Ki Khani" = happened to my mind, meaning wonder what came over my mind, what did it consume, "khaani", that I fought/argued "lar" with my beloved, & now am repenting "pachhtaani re"!

Am now (feeling) like that lifelessly flayling ("jhupe") fish ("meen") without (washed away from) water, against the (rough) cliffs! "Giri" = Cliffs

Painful lyrics in such a beautiful bandish! :)

  • Who's the composer of the song?

  • Amazing rendition of Raaga Malkauns (my most favourite raaga) by Panditji. He is such a wonderful person, very humble but so great.

  • Mein to piya sangh lar pachtaaneere

  • Many thanks sir for such a valuable one.

  • Have been listening to this old favorite for many years, but my enjoyment and emotion is so much enhanced by your wonderful imagery, including the stills of Abhyankarji and the painting behind him. Abhyankarjis's voice and taans are amazing.
