Yes, it is true that the version they have playing in the movie is the studio version of the song. BUT the actors aren't allowed to play it on the setuntil they can actually play the song. Everything in the movie has the correct fingering, hitting, etc. Thailand has more respect for their instruments and teachers than that. They had a section on TV for the actors to come on stage to prove their competance. Khun In also is the one of the best teachers, so he's not faking.

hmmmm.... the U.S. version I watched had some of the non-musical parts of this section deleted... I enjoyed the movie just the same!
