This is my story of dealing with mild-severe hearing loss in my left ear.
I was dignoased when I was in second grade and I've learned to be an advocate for not only myself, but for others as well.

  • has it gotten any worse at all or when were you tested last for it?

  • @bunzy11 I'm tested every year through school and it hasn't gotten worse.

When I was younger, I had the hearing of a teenager, so now that my age has caught my hearing, it hasn't gotten worse.

  • I hope you're doing great. I too have a moderate to severe hearing loss in my left ear, and just below normal in my right ear. Left ear dips to 65db at 3 and 4 khz.

  • I have the same problem as you I can't hear low base tones or high pitches in my left ear. I do have a hearing aid but i don't use it because i just got it. I am only 15 and I hate getting made fun of and all the are you deaf jokes and im like yea i am.

  • @11greysonchance hi im beth and i suffer with the same problem i also have two and i know the feeling of wearing your hair down to cover them and its scary meeting new people and wondering what they think of them, its nice to meet someone the same age with the same problem :)

  • i have two hearing aids, and im 13, i was diagnosed with hearing loss when i was 2, its hard because alot of people are ignorant about it. When i first moved to a new school in grade 6 i didnt tell anyone about my hearing aids because i was afraid to be "diffrent" nobody could see them because i wore my hair down, nobody knew for the whole year until grade 7 i decided that i am who i am and i should be proud of it. Im still struggling but i try to wear my hair up and not care what ppl think!

  • wow you almost had the same experiences i had. I didn't have a speaker box but I had a fm system and it was a mic with the fuzzy black thing and first thing my 4th grade teacher said was do you care if I act like I'm brittany spears no joke lol. the hear me now thing my 7th grade math did that as a joke too to see how far the fm range was lol kind of like the verizon commercial. my ha's fell out in football and make whistling noises and they would joke i was communicating with the aliens haha

  • You are such a strong girl <3

  • Wow!, that was very beautiful. So inspiring and meaningful.
