Homebirth of Hazel Rose... Part 2

Our darling baby was born on 11th May 2010, our home/ waterbirth was the most amazing experience. The birth was so quick and straight forward thanks to hypnobirthing and the calm, relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately the camera stopped 2 minutes before she was born so we missed getting that on video... but at least we got the rest!

My waters broke at 5am and I got up and began to get the house cleaned and set up for the birth while i was having mild contractions for most of the morning, stopping to breath through the contractions. We started to fill the pool and by the time I got in at 12 pm my contractions were becoming more intense. They were increasingly stronger untill I felt pressure and the urge to push half an hour later. Once i started pushing i felt her head coming down on one push, then the next push i had the biggest contraction and pushed the whole way through and mangaged to get her whole head out in one go! I then squatted upright and delivered the rest of her body into my arms. It all happened so fast I was amazed at my body's ability! It was the best experience and i cant wait to do it all over again!! lol

I love this song you chose!! I had this played at my wedding, and I listened to it a lot during my miscarriage in November. When God gives my the chance at motherhood again, I have no doubt that i will have this playing when our child is born. So inspired by this, it just reaffirms my belief in myself and my body's ability to have a natural birth at home!

Dear summerchic21, beautiful job giving birth to Hazel. I wanted to say thank you for this video as it made me feel like I'm truly doing a great thing wanting to have a waterbirth for my son. I had some fears as this is my first waterbirth and even so my first pregnancy ever and pretty much most of my fears had diminished after watching this video. I feel like nothing will go wrong now. So thank you! and congrats even tho she must be 21 months now since you last posted her as 20 MO. ~silenthands

@SilentHandsDoula hey Im glad you feel good about wanting a waterbirth now, it definately is a great way to bring a baby into the world, I have recently had another home waterbirth, if you want to watch that video too, look for "Blake's Unassisted homebirth, it is in several parts, all the best and i hope your birth goes well :)

@summerchic21 yeah I was starting to feel hesitate since I've determined while being in high school in my senior year that I was going to have a waterbirth, until I actually got pregnant then I freaked since well it is my first. But like I said, Your video was inspirational.
