That smoking does not harm the guitar!
-
but can he play smoke on the water? oh wait..

In blues music it's much appreciated when an artist plays his own version of a classic song, or even starts jamming (like in this video I presume).
But when it comes down to rock, metal and so on, everybody starts beeing a complete ass by commenting in the most negative way.
Start enjoying music, that's what counts!

absolute SHITE!

i like the way malmsteen took the soong as a "jamming" rather than "usual song"

everyone bitching about the tone and performance and use of the song in general has most likely never played a live show. everyone bitching about his attitude probably couldnt get a crowd going if they set themselves on fire. everyone bitching about his skills most likely hates the way they play after 3 decades of practice.

I had the good fortune to meet Jeff Campitelli, Joe Satriani's regular touring drummer, several years back and he had some pretty colorful stories to tell about Yngwie during a G3 tour. At one point during a sound check, everyone's on stage working like normal professionals, including Satriani and Steve Vai. Then Yngwie comes out on stage and shouts "WHAT FUCKING TIME IS IT?" Everyone looks at their watch, "Uh, it's about 1:30 dude." Yngwie yells, "NO! It's time... TO ROCK!"
