MPGomatic takes a 2009 Chevy Aveo5 2LT out for an extended test drive. Full Review: http://www.mpgomatic.com/2008/10/20/chevy-aveo5-mpg-review/

Chevy Aveo5 Review Summary: The five-door 2009 Aveo5 and its four-door sedan sibling fill the entry-level slot in Chevy's line up. With highway gas mileage in the mid-thirties, a comfortable interior, flexible cargo capacity, and low base model sticker price, the Aveo5 is worth a look.

The Chevrolet Aveo competes with the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, and Nissan Versa among others in the subcompact market. Available as both a sedan and five-door hatch dubbed the Aveo5, the South Korean-built Aveo defines the entry-level in Chevy's line up.

  • So how is the handling and power in the Aveo or Yaris?

  • Between the two, we'd give the nod to the Yaris, overall ... it's capable of remarkable fuel economy.

  • lol I always laugh soo badly everytime i have to drive these. Seriously, they are the slowest of all the subcompacts and they get terrible gas mileage too

  • @123dodgecharger Hopefully never. I know I'd never buy it. It's almost as stupid as the PT Cruiser GT, Dodge Neon/Caliber SRT4, etc.

  • @Sharod101 No they didn't do it to get more money, they did it because Daewoo dealerships are all closed and GM didn't have a subcompact car in their lineup so they figured they could just start selling rebadged Daewoos instead of using domestic resources to build a car that wouldn't yield a high return since they were so far behind other manufacturers, not to mention Korea dos not have the UAW. This isn't the only one, Buick Reagal and Chevy Cruze are both German and Korean.+Daewoo name=garbage

  • for those who don't know, this is actually a daewoo, they just changed their name to Chevrolet to get more money, and it kinda means they have to raise there standards (daewoo's were horrible cars).

would i buy this car? maybe for 2000 bucks used, but never a brand new one. i'd be pretty happy in it being only 16, i don't need a mercedes C class car to get me to school and back.

  • wonder when will the aveo RS be launched

  • @fenix144 acura... let me guess, integra? haha. anyway, its how old? now youre caught commenting on aveo youtubes? shopping for a better car are you? idiot. my aveo is nothing compared to a new acura but to yours ... go get some underglow and bondo moron.

  • @dpawl31 I'll lol at you when my 12 years old 300 000km acura will die after your aveo.

  • i have a cobalt ss/sc and a 2010 aveo, and the aveo is way faster.

    SIKE....

  • >South Korean built.

    Not the generation you tested.

  • Mercury. Its the corporate twin of the Ford Fusion meaning that it's a Ford Fusion with slightly different interior trim, different wheels, and distinctive front and rear fascias but the chassis, engine, transmission, and overall platform are identical.
