The Statue shown at 2:34 is of Durga Malla a brave Gorkha officer who joined Netaji's INA and fought against the British with his band of Gorkha troops. He was executed for being a freedom fighter.

A retired Indian Gorkha soldier recently revisited those glory days when he thwarted 40 robbers, killing three of them and injuring eight others, with his knife (khukuri) during a train journey. He is in line to receive three gallantry awards from the Indian government.

I love the tilted hats of the Gurkha regiment soldiers. What class!
Gurkhas surely are the smartest dressed of all Indian army regiments. I esp. look out for the Gurkhas march during the ID parade in Delhi.

The way I see it all regiments of the Indian Army are smartly dressed. My fav. is Rajputana Rifles Regiment's Ceremonial outfit.
