The Chicago Tribune reports that while the U.S. economy will eventually rebound from the Great Recession, millions of American workers will not. What some economists now project — and policymakers are loath to admit — is that the U.S. unemployment rate, which stood at 9.6% in August, could remain elevated for years to come.

  • @HolisticPlantHealth Jobless recovery + rich getting richer = Revolution

  • Most Americans have been brainwashed to work for other people.I tell those people what are you good at ,See if there's a demand for it ,if not make necessary adjustments.Try to work for yourself,Not for another.

  • @mosaicmaster1 thanks for the encouraging words we can't cut any more overhead we already did that we already went from a m-f work week to a m-s as well...we exspanded our relevant territory and products...but I did have a great thought ponder this for a while you may do something with it "even in the worse economy in North America there are millions of dollars in goods = (wealth) just sitting there" to find a way to acsess it and distribute it, someone would make big on that!

  • @lucy9359 If your making close to 200k your in a above decent situation to cut some overhead and move foward.Your a business person that just sounds a bit shaken from the economic downturn...Trust me you sound smart enough to adapt and survive and more.Fight for whats yours.

  • @mosaicmaster1 I think we are heading up the idea of just having me opening and running a second small business we have the one floating it is earning close to 200K a year but it is also in Canada where if you want to get ahead you need to earn 500K a year as the taxes are half it and then it is $250k to own a house that is a fixer upper...hard to get the house paid off even if you eat good!

  • @mosaicmaster1 Companies are forced to compete with cheap Chinese labor which would motivate them to discredit the value of a degree which really means they care more about their pockets not yours. Don't allow yourself to be conned by that misconception.

  • @mosaicmaster1 People today are unable to save because of inflation-ism coming out of Washington as with other drivers in the economy such as fuel costs and the higher costs of living in general. I agree people get in over their heads in borrowing assuming that their jobs would always be there which is not the case in today's climates.

  • @carryclass One person's perception of their reality differs from another in how they view education and whats important to them. We gain education through life experiences as with formal education combining the two generates a better quality and is intrinsically rewarding. Getting a formal education can teach you how to get more out of your life experiences at least in my view.

  • @carryclass That would be based on your perception within a single segment of the markets. Many people have degrees in specific areas and are forced to take whatever is available. Tenure is important and rewarding and can be detrimental. I've seen it time and time again especially in the first line management levels and the person's inability to in getting people to follow them using authoritarian demanding approach with employees that will leave when the markets improve.

  • @tinleo333 Your right we do need to change...We give value to a piece of paper that is backed by nothing. We depend on stores to get our food and clothes. We think we are superior to others yet we couldn't survive 2 days in a jungle. Our production level is practically zero,,Big companies build everything..We don't.

  • @carryclass I'am also a highschool drop out and predicted the same thing....If you want a child to stop learning, you put him within four walls.

  • @DHarri9977 Its people giving these big banks business that has the Economy screwed up.Everything i have done including building my home has been done without loans. Its a old concept,But if you want something you save up for it.Forget about loans,Put some money aside little by little,Start small and you will value what you have done even more.
