@marazm1 Harmonic series. Shorter instruments have a higher base pitch (the very bottom of the harmonic series), thus limiting the notes that can be produced in our frequency range. This is also why the french horn is such a diverse instrument with a five octave "playable" range. In the extreme high range, however, the harmonic series pitches are so close together that it's very difficult to accurately slot the pitches. In these ranges, descant or triple horns are favored.

Super, that is why I am the Alphorn Blatzer (R)

Love Hose-A-Phones™! I played 2001 on mine while doing the doppler effect. Epic.

I am gong to try this

Is this coming from the hose or it is a trumpet in the background?

Fake.

I was going to try making a conical bore hosaphone by using progressively larger diameters of tubing attached together. I wonder if that fanfare can be played on the military bugle I bought on ebay today. Is that written for a natural trumpet in the key of C? I think bugles are in Bb.

@MitchMb14 That cannot be played on a bugle. A bugle doesn't have enough notes. This "instrument" is 8 ft long and has a lot more available notes. I don't know the formula, but the longer the tube, the more notes you can play. Bugle can play C G c e g bb c' d' e' .... My hose-a-phone cost me about 8 dollars. Just a funnel and vinyl tube.

Or maybe not...
If not, it's amazing.

dude, if it were fake, i'd then perfect it! It is completely real. Try it. Buy a used trumpet mouthpiece, some vinyl tube and a funnel. that's it. the longer the hose, the more notes you can play.

I never understood how it was possible to execute lipped trills like that. Then again, I barely have any experience on brass instruments...
Quite impressive.

its not that difficult really! you just have to find that spot in between notes, and adjust the pressure. Also, i'm helping the trill with my hand holding the mouthpiece. Doing a lip trill with just lips is kinda hard!
