EM driven integrated region- and boundary-based level set model is applied for Gland Segmentation of Prostate Histological Image. The region term employs statistical information derived from foreground and background regions to approximate a Gaussian mixture model (GMM). The EM algorithm is then applied for more accurate determination and updating of region statistics. The boundary term is described by a local structure tensor based color gradient which results in better defined boundaries
